Year 2 Sleepover July 2019
Friday night we saw this years Year 2 Sleepover event go down a storm!
We had a fantastic night at school, first we played in the Reception outdoor area where we saw children making mud pies, sandcastles, role playing, rolling around in tyres, saving each other in a make shift Anderson Shelter from World War 2 plus a very exciting water fight!
Miss Armstrong's belly hurt from all the laughing and screaming from being soaked by the children. The children loved soaking the teachers and their friends! We were very lucky with the warm weather and it didn't take long for us to dry off.
Once we were dry we set up beds in the hall ready for later.
We then headed down to the Round Room where the children chose their own topping for their crackers, they grated carrot, cheese and chopped tomatoes, sliced cucumber and spread soft cheese and butter.
We then headed outside for a game of human hungry hippos. The children worked in teams taking turns to lie on a skateboard and collect as many balls as possible. Miss Blumire even had a turn - I think her face says it all!!!
Next we headed back into the Round Room where children played the Wii, painted the teachers and ech others nails, played with construction materials, play doh and had a competitive game of cup ping pong.
Finally for the evening we brushed our teeth and headed off to get changed ready for bed. The children then read books by torchlight before settling down falling asleep to audio stories. It wasn't long before we heard snoring!
In the morning children made their own breakfast, had one last playtime in the playground before being collected and going home.
The staff enjoyed this sleepover just as much of as the children! Miss Armstrong said it was her first ever experience of a sleepover and said it definitely wont be her last!
Thank you to all the staff - without you the children wouldn't of had such an amazing time.
