Bright Beginnings
All about Bright Beginnings
Bright Beginnings sessions (Stay & Play and Tuneful Stars) are open to the community and are suitable from birth to three. Sessions run during the school term time only and take place in the Round Room, located next to the school’s main entrance.
No, Bright Beginnings are drop in sessions but we ask all families to complete a registration form whether you will be attending on a regular basis or just dropping in from time to time. There are also some expectations and ground rules in place to keep all users happy and safe.
Sessions can get quite busy and in some cases we have to close admission upon reaching our maximum capacity allowed in the Round Room. Please bear this in mind if you are travelling from outside the local area and that these occasions are out of our control.
No, the session is designed for you and your child to learn through taking part in activities together.
Stay & Play session is 50p
Tuneful Stars session is FREE
Stay & Play
Every week different activities are provided for you and your child to play, explore and learn together. Activities are planned to encourage your child in all areas of their development. Stay & Play is a great way of socialising and meeting other families.
You don’t have to attend every session however it is good for your child to socialise and get used to a familiar environment which will prepare them for the transition to Nursery. Attending on a regular basis will also allow your child to form friendships and strengthen social relationships with other adults as well as learn boundaries and routines.
Our routine is quite simple and helps children prepare for starting Nursery. Some activities are messy which the children love, aprons are provided but accidents do happen so please don’t dress them in their best clothes! We may occasionally have cooking activities to take part in. All ingredients are suitable for vegetarians however although we try, we cannot guarantee complete allergy free products. It is the responsibility of the parent and carers to check the ingredients and packaging before deciding whether their child can participate or not. All parents and carers should encourage their children by sitting and playing with them at the activities. Children learn through play and encouragement. Some children need a little guidance with activities that are out and help in learning boundaries.

Tuneful Stars
Tuneful Stars is a great start to helping your baby/child communicate. We’ll be singing some nursery rhymes and songs together which will help your child build their listening and attention skills as well as developing their language and speech. We will learn some action songs which will involve physical movement. We will also play some instruments too which will help your child with both their coordination and motor skills.
Tuneful Stars
This is an introduction to singing at home and helps to support forming words and sounds. Sheila
There is lots of interaction, actions and instruments which engages the children's learning. They also learn colours and objects during the session. Lisa
