• Friday 7 October 2022 Sarah Owen MP visit Sarah Owen MP for Luton North visited Ferrars Junior school today. Mr Rae and Mrs McDade invited Miss Green and Mrs Kelly to attend the visit. We had lots of conversations around how Mrs Owen can help the local community and how interested she in in understanding the challenges local schools face. It was a really positive visit. Thank you Sarah Owens for your time and offer of support to staff and families in need of help.
• Tuesday 4 October 2022 Jeans for Genes Day 2022 On Friday 23rd September 2022, children were invited to wear their jeans in support of the charity Jeans for Genes. We raised £404.00. To find out more about the charity, please see their website www.jeansforgenes.org/
• Tuesday 4 October 2022 Primary Science Quality Mark We are excited and proud to share that after two years of lots of hard work, we have managed to gain the Primary Science Quality Mark. Over the course of gaining this accreditation we have developed a vision for science alongside teachers and pupils that reflects our pupils, their needs and their own vision for what Science should be. We have worked hard to ensure that children recognise the relevance of Science in their everyday lives and gain an understanding of what a scientist is. We encourage children to see themselves as scientists and in doing so strive to enable them to be critical thinkers who ask questions about the world around them. Well done Ferrars!
• Wednesday 17 November 2021 Save the Bees In October, Year Two entered theVirtual Honey Show run by Bedfordshire Beekeepers Association. The children recalled their learning from Save the Bees Week in Year One and delved deeper in to the world of bees to create a collective piece of work. We are so proud to say that Year Two won first prize and the best in show award. Well done Year Two, we are so proud of you.
• Friday 17 September 2021 Jeans for Genes Day On Friday 17th September 2021 we took part in the Jeans for Genes Day. We raised £392.77 which will be shared equally between the charity and the academy. Thank you for your support.
