Year 2 Trip to Warwick Castle July 2019
Year 2 had an exciting day at Warwick Castle yesterday. We watched a fabulous Bird of Prey show where the birds swooped low over our heads! We sat and ate lunch whilst watching the trebuchet show. Unfortunately the trebuchet was broken so the children couldn't see it being flung. They explored the gaol where the prisoners were chained to the wall. Not many of the children fancied staying down in the dark dingy room for too long! We explored the towers and walked up the 500 steps to reach the top! We were exhausted! We saw the princess at the bottom of her tower - we said hello and gave her a wave. As we walked around the castle, children remembered and called out parts of the castle they had learnt about in our History lessons. Finally we watched the Bowman fire his arrow from his bow into a target. He had great aim - he almost hit the centre point!
We all had a great time. Many of the children fell asleep on the coach journey back to school
