National Story Telling Week 2020
All year groups had a fantastic week of storytelling activities. Each year group focused on a different book for the week, they completed a range of English and cross curricular lessons and activities. Key Stage 1 started the week with a dance workshop by the West End Company to launch their book. The children were excited to see their parents and carers on Tuesday and Thursday when they shared stories and completed storytelling activities with them. The parents then joined in with the class story at the end of the session where the class teachers told a story in a different way on each day. We completed the week with a dressing up day where the children came dressed as their favourite book characters - all staff joined in too! We showed off our costumes in a whole school parade and the lucky winners were presented with a book. On Friday after school the children came back into their classes with their parents and carers for a Showcase of Work, all of the children were proud of the work they produced over the week and were eager to show off what they had achieved! A fantastic storytelling week had by all!
