NATIONAL LOCKDOWN SCHOOL CLOSED FOR ALL EXCEPT VULNERABLE AND CRITICAL WORKER CHILDREN
**THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED FOR ALL EXCEPT VULNERABLE AND CRITICAL WORKERS CHILDREN**
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Following the announcement from the Prime Minister Boris Johnson tonight at 8pm regarding the country moving to Alert Level 5 and National Lockdown status, The Ferrars Academy Infant school and Nursery will close with immediate effect for the majority of pupils from Midnight tonight. We apologise for this as we know for some of you it will cause unneccessary stress and is different to our earlier correspondence with you. The decision has now been taken out of our hands.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE LATE NOTICE OF THE PRIME MINISTERS ANNOUNCEMENT SCHOOL IS CLOSED FOR ALL PUPILS ON TUESDAY 5TH JANUARY AS WE NEED TO PLAN AND ORGANISE THINGS SAFELY FOR THE NEW DEVELOPMENTS-
Moving forwards we will only be open for Vulnerable and critical workers' children across all year groups. These children will start attending school on Wednesday 6th January. More details will be provided once your place is guaranteed.
If you believe you qualify for a place for your child. You must email email@example.com before the deadline of 12 noon tomorrow ( 5/1/21) and clearly state the following information.
- Your child's name
- Year group and class of child
- Your name (parent /carer names)
- Your reason for needing the place and your profession
We may well email you for further information. Places should only be requested if you have no other alternative childcare. You must then wait to receive confirmation of your place as we only have a certain number of places available.
For all other children we will be providing home learning opportunities during this period of closure which you can locate on the school website. More information regarding this will follow in due course. Children of Infant age should not be expected to sit and work formally for long periods of times. They learn best through exploration and short activities. Welfare calls will be re -introduced from school staff to our families as they did during the first National Lockdown. If you have any problems or concerns we are still here to help please email firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will get back to you.
These continue to be such unprecedented times and cause stress and anxiety for many of us. I can only apologise once again for the change to our plans but the decision was taken out of our hands. Stay safe and best wishes.
Miss Sarah Green
